African Newcomers Orientation
The general objective of ANO is to: Establish a network of contacts and communities for Africans who arrive in the United States for the first time; Familiarize newly arrived Africans with cultural practices and the financial system; Help newly arrived Africans locate and be integrated into their native communities within the United States; Provide services that will help offer solutions to any problems related to the transition process;
International Ethical Leadership Program (IELP)
IELP has 3 parts: Global Leadership Conferences, The Giving Tree, and The Footprint. Two Global Leadership Conferences of 500 youth, one in Africa and one in the US, are held annually. At conferences youth discuss ethics and visit 3-4 cities. The Giving Tree is a mentoring program. Youth participants will be matched with a mentor based on their industry: Business, Legal, Science, Entertainment, Religion, and Journalism.
Finding Common Sacred Ground
The general objectives of FCSG are: To identify values and roles that are common to all religions represented on the panel; and To use shared values to create shared goals.
Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN)
GYIN aims to create and support an enabling environment where youth can act on their own behalf and terms, and to facilitate the exchange of experiences, learning, and networking. Specific objectives are: To identify and engage with youth entrepreneurs, organizations, and their communities; To reinforce and exchange experiences, good practices, and learned lessons; To use a launching event as a springboard to establish a youth network;
MBA Leadership Program
The general objective of MBAL is to: Identify and provide the knowledge and resources to business models; Expand their business ideas from the local market to scalable businesses; Create a platform to regional and international markets; Support an active community that is inspired to invest in their own business ventures; and Provide a network of support to help guide and educate upcoming business entrepreneurs.
Search for Emerging Afro-Descendant Leaders (SEAL)
The general objectives of SEAL are: To develop the leadership potential of youth in Africa, Latin America, and the United States by selecting the top talents in four fields: entrepreneurship, journalism, performing arts and visual arts; and To ensure sustainability of the contestants’ ideas by providing mentorships, internships, or access to universities to selected winners in each category from each country.
Strengthening the Senegalese Education System "SeneTrust"
The general objectives of SeneTrust are to build a Fund which will support research, fund pedagogy, fund academic management, and Improve the social life of the students.
Palaver Hut - A Roundtable Discussion
In order to create an environment of productive dialogue and awareness, PAFE (Programs for Africa and Freedom Endowment) conducts several Africa Roundtables each year. These Roundtables are called “Palaver Huts”. Palaver, meaning a prolonged discussion between two parties, comes from the West African tradition of gathering everybody in the village into a hut to discuss a matter until it is resolved.
